William James Austin is an unrepentant New Yorker. His books include

His poetry and prose have appeared in numerous magazines and journals. In a previous life he composed music and lyrics for Lou Rawls, Hammer, and other rock and jazz notables. Currently he co-edits the experimental literary magazine, BLACKBOX, while teaching at the State University of New York. His latest book,
5 UNDERWORLD 6 was published in Spring 2001.
