Lunar Solar Power Resources
|
A note from Dr. Kramer about Lunar Solar Power and Dr. David Criswell who spoke on campus in the spring of 2005 Soon we must provide levels of energy equal to the developed world's standard to an entire world population of 6 - 10 billion people. The earth cannot sustain that level of energy production for long without depleting our oil, using filthy coal and nuclear power, increasing pollution and global warming to untenable levels and otherwise raping the environment. Renewable sources of energy on the earth will not be able to meet this huge and increasing demand. For nearly three decades, Dr. Criswell has been demonstrating that the best available source of the needed energy will be the solar energy which strikes the moon. He makes a compelling case that by 2050 we must have begun capturing significant amounts of this Lunar Solar Power in order to meet the demands of an increasingly prosperous and demanding world citizenry. I have placed links to a biography and several academic papers by Dr. Criswell and other information on Lunar Solar Power this page. |
Dr. David R. Criswell The Distinguished Speakers Program Presents Lunar Solar Power and Nurtured Earth 11 am, Thursday, February 17, 2005, Roosevelt Hall Little Theater David R. Criswell directs the Institute for Space Systems Operations at the University of Houston and is an associate director of the Texas Space Grant Consortium. Dr. Criswells work centers on the use of the Moon as a solar power station to supply electric power to Earth. He also conducts research on advanced propulsion, aerospace vehicles, and the physical basis of economic growth. For more information, contact Dr. Charles Fishman x2687. |
