The Lockhorns Exhibit - See art and other items from The Lockhorns, which has run as a comic strip since 1968. There is an opening reception for this exhibit at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. All are invited.
--Also, note Bunny Hoest's presentation on October 21--
Dr. Kramer's students can obtain extra credit for this event by spending 45 minutes studing the exhibit, obtaining the signature of the person in charge, and writing an essay about their experience.

Study Abroad Fair - SUNY colleges from throughout NY State will attend to describe programs they offer.

Classes are offered in many countries and are for credit. Classes are offered over winter and summer break as well as for the fall and spring semesters.

International experience can be the highlight of your educational experience. Talk to other students who have tried it. This past summer, a number of students traveled to Florence. In the winter of 2009/10, six of our students discovered China during a two week tour.

Emergency Preparedness Exercise - David Baksh, Associate Executive Director and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Queens Hospital Center, has created an emergency preparedness exercise for the hospital. He is looking for student participation in the form of "victims" and volunteers. Wanda Phipps - poet, journalist, dramaturg, translator as well as a singer/songwriter.

Wanda Phipps was born in Washington, D.C. and studied theater and English literature at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City, acting at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, CA, and poetry at Naropa Institute in Boulder, CO.

Keith Flynn - author of four collections of poetry, has been nominated six times for the Pushcart Prize, was awarded the Paumanok Poetry Prize in 1996, and has given thousands of performances from his work across North America and abroad.

The Heart of Cartooning - "Cartoon Lady," Bunny Hoest, speaks of her long relationship with The Lockhorns comic strip which, since the passing of her husband, Bill, she produces in collaboration with artist, John Reiner.

Annette Opalczynski - Her awards include two fellowship grants for poetry from the Delaware Division for the Arts. Her poems have been published in The North American Review, The Paterson Literary Review, The Sun, and Oberon Magazine.
