PHYSICS 333 –
Modern Physics
Instructor: Dr. L. Makarowitz (Lupton 200A)
Text: "Modern Physics" Fifth Edition by Tipler and Llewellyn
Grading Policy:
Your grade in PHY 333 will be based on three large examinations (each worth 20 percent, with no exams dropped) and a comprehensive final examination (worth 40 percent). All exams (including the final exam) are traditional problem-solving exams, in which all work must be shown. Students must work independently on examinations, without the use of formula sheets, texts, notes, or other aids (except for a calculator). Please make sure that all mobile phones and other such devices are completely turned off before class begins. Thank you for your courtesy. The last day to withdraw without penalty is March 23, 2012.
A tentative schedule of topics follows.
